## Accelerated Mathematics

- A high achieving highly gifted or profoundly gifted child that wishes to stretch his/her learning beyond the standard classroom and may require radical subject acceleration
- A high achieving child that may be mildly or moderately gifted and wishes to gain a deeper understanding of mathematics
- A gifted child with weak learning outcomes resulting from a poor learning environment
- An underachieving gifted child resulting from chronic boredom that requires a stimulating academic environment for motivation
- Any high achieving student with an enthusiasm for learning

Classes at HEROES stress critical thinking, problem solving, and logical reasoning skills. We provide a rigorous curriculum that challenges the minds of our gifted learners and provides our students with a deeper understanding of each concept. Student should expect approximately 15 minutes of homework per day throughout the week.

Accelerated math classes at HEROES are designed to place students on a two-year accelerated math track, but the time at which a child reaches Algebra may vary. Students may enter our programs on grade level, above grade level, or even below grade level if necessary. HEROES cannot place a student more than 1 year below grade level; however, HEROES may provide private tutoring to place students in better suited classes if time allows. Half-year placements such as “Accelerated 3rd/4th Grade math” allow for even more finite class placements and may allow underachieving gifted students to “catch up” in the future.
